Crochet Pattern Works is operated by Lolita. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@crochetpatternworks.com.
Your images and patterns
Images you choose from your device are cropped, reduced in color, converted, and edited in your browser. These tools do not upload your chosen image or edited grid to our server. PNG and PDF exports are created locally.
Your current draft and source image may be saved in this browser using local storage, including IndexedDB. This is not a cloud backup. Clearing site data removes locally saved work. Private browsing or browser storage limits may prevent saving. Download work you want to keep.
AI image generation
When you use Describe a Pattern, your description is sent to our server and then to Kie to generate an image. For eligible failures, it may instead be sent to OpenRouter and its selected image-model provider. We add instructions for a simple motif. Our server retrieves the generated image and returns it to your browser, where conversion and editing take place.
Avoid private or sensitive information in descriptions. These providers process requests under their own terms and privacy policies; we cannot promise immediate deletion or that they never use requests for other purposes. See Kie and OpenRouter’s privacy policy.
Cookies and service records
The site uses a language cookie. AI generation also uses a signed browser identifier cookie, lasting up to one year, to associate requests with the same browser. It is not an advertising identifier.
For abuse prevention and usage limits, the server hashes your IP address and browser identifier. Temporary records include these hashes, job references, a hash of your description, timestamps, status, and usage or cost counters. The job record does not store the full description. Production uses a shared Redis service for these records; local development uses memory. Expiring job and usage records do not form a cloud pattern library.
Hosting providers may process IP addresses, browser details, requested URLs, timestamps, and errors to operate and secure the site. We do not intentionally include uploaded image contents or full descriptions in application logs. Log retention depends on the hosting service and its configuration.
Support and purposes
When you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments. We use these to answer you and resolve issues, retaining correspondence as needed for the request and follow-up. You can ask us to delete it. Please remove sensitive information from screenshots.
We use information to deliver requested features, provide support, and protect the service. Where a legal basis is required, this includes providing the requested service and our legitimate interests in operation and security. If an additional use requires consent, we will ask for it.
Providers and your choices
Service providers may process information outside your country, subject to their practices and applicable law. We do not sell your personal information. The current public tool has no account registration, checkout, advertising tracking, or product-analytics flow.
You can use image upload and drawing without submitting an AI description. You can remove local drafts and cookies through your browser’s site-data settings, which may delete unfinished work. Browser-held drafts cannot be retrieved by us.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, restrict processing, or object to it. Email the address above to make a request; we may need to verify that it concerns you. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Changes
We will update this notice when practices change, including if accounts, payments, or cloud saving are introduced. The date above identifies the latest revision.
